Mikey Lewis from award-winning North London hair and beauty destination bepop has been crowned the UK winner of the ALFAPARF Milano Professional Next Color GenHAIRation Award. He will represent the UK in the Global Final due to take place in October this year.
Mikey wowed the judges with his ‘Denim Dreams’ creation, they noted the originality of his colour and called it a “fresh take on blue”.
For Mikey, ‘Denim Dreams’ came from “a childhood by the seaside and a love of denim.” Now, he looks to the next stage of the competition; “I am so thrilled to have won this award and look forward to the Global Final.”
The five UK finalists were tasked with mixing their favourite shade to create a brand-new colour which combined originality and commercial appeal.
During an intense afternoon, the final five worked against the clock to bring their colour looks alive on a model, after which they faced an assessment by a group of judges, including a Creative HEAD representative.
The other four finalists were Julie Wells from Chop and Change, Valerio Ercolano from NCI Brixton, Andreea Bunescu at Master Style London, and Tanahya Nash, a colleague of Mikey’s at bepop London.
Going forward, Mikey has much to fight for in the Global Final; the winner will have their mixture produced by and added to the ALFAPARF Milano Professional colour chart and will get the chance to participate in the ALFAPARF Milano Professional 2023 collection shoot.
