CHM x BaByliss PRO – Recreate Richard Phillipart’s ‘Bohemian’ look

“Eccentric, bohemian and empowered, I wanted this look to echo the protest movements of the ‘60s and ‘70s clashing with the modernity of the traveling woman”

Step 1

Three wefts of extensions were prepped in advance. On the day of the shoot, I applied lots of strong hold hairspray then tightly backcombed the extensions to boost frizz and texture. Next, I used a crimping iron over the backcombing then allowed hair to cool. Once cool, and using a soft bristle brush, I released the frizzy texture.

Step 2

Apply a full head of extensions with wefts very closely packed together. Use a hairdryer on the cold setting to quickly fix the glue.

Step 3

Section by section, use a waving tool to produce a deep bend – making sure each section of waves lines up with the next.

Step 4

Using a 19mm curling tong, tightly curl the fringe and set with hairspray.

Step 5

Use your fingers to separate and loosen the waves and frizz then brush from the roots. Apply more hairspray, massaging in to create extra texture to finish.
