Salons across the UK and Ireland start to see clarity on opening for business

Ireland – salons and barbers can reopen 29 June

Having originally set a date of 20 July, the Irish government has now confirmed that salons can reopen from 29 June following a re-evaluation.

Northern Ireland – salons and barbers can reopen 6 July

Revealed by the Executive,  the plans are among the next lockdown easing measures green lit by Stormont ministers.

Wales – salons and barbers likely to reopen 13 July

First Minister Mark Drakeford will make a further announcement on 9 July to confirm if it is safe for salons to reopen, but the plan is 13 July.

England – salons and barbers to reopen 4 July 

Boris Johnson confirmed English salons could reopen on 4 July, and mentioned specifically the use of visors in terms of PPE requirements.

Scotland – salons and barbers to reopen 15 July 

Having originally announced that salons and barbers would be  likely to reopen in mid-August, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has now confirmed that hairdressers and barbers can reopen from 15 July. Other personal retail services will remain closed until a later date.
