Who won big at the 2021 Wella Professionals TrendVision Award
UK & Ireland Final?
The Wella Company TrendVision UK & Ireland final was an epic night of entertainment, as the industry gathered together in-person to celebrate talent and success against all odds. This year’s event also saw many ‘firsts’ to be excited about. For the first time,the XPOSURE student categories joined the main TrendVision event, along with the new Natural Texture Artist category – and the talent on show has been seriously impressive.
Returning to the infamous Roundhouse in Camden Town, London, co-hosts Patrick Cameron and Fearne Cotton kept the crowd of over 700 hairdressers and nail professionals entertained all evening. Drinks flowed as guests were invited to catch a glimpse of the TVA 2021 Model Gallery before enjoying the first of four spectacular shows from a line-up of Wella’s top hair talents. Taking to the stage first was D&J Ambrose, who delivered dramatic flair with high-contrast colour. Centred around the Trendoids – six free-living anti-fashionistas channelling their own non-conformist vibe, ‘The Lost City – Orient Versus Occident’ featured a whole host of references, techniques and trend-inspired details, offering tailored couture hair with shots of intense colour.

Following the first spectacular, the winners of Editorial Look, Style Master, Natural Texture Artist categories were announced. Scooping the title of Style Master was Georgia Freeman, with Shona De Rose winning the first ever award for Natural Texture Artist and Craig Parkinson taking the trophy for Editorial Look.
Keeping the energy at an all-time high, taking to the stage next was ghd, who unleashed a powerful, raw mix of volume, movement and texture. Featuring exaggerated shapes to create the powerful alpha-female, ‘Jungle’ demonstrated curls, creativity, using the ghd portfolio of tools to enhance the attitude.

‘Lunascape’ by HOB Academy
Following a delicious three-course meal, HOB Academy showcased an array of bespoke looks, encapsulating street-inspired hairstyles and hot catwalk trends. ‘Lunascape’ featured a variety of classic and advanced cut, colour and dressing techniques, sharing a fascinating insight into HOB Academy’s vision of the trends that will dominate 2022.
The final show of the night was ‘Dark Into The Light’ from Robert Eaton. Each iconic look featured a unique colour personality by using innovative techniques that champion Robert’s love of texture.Told through the channels of sound, colour, light and movement, the show featured light-infused colour alongside sharp cuts and plenty of shapes, volume and enhanced texture.

After four inspirational shows, guests also had the opportunity to see competitors work IRL, as judges and competitors paraded across the stage before the final awards were announced. In the Colour Artist category Gerri Stobbs won for the UK while Elaine Crown, took home the trophy for Ireland. Colour Specialist saw Kelly Evans win for the UK, while it was Emily Nelson who was named Irish winner.
For the final category of the night, Craft Artist, Erin Marley was named the UK winner and Ciarán Dowd for Ireland. Prizes for the winners include two photoshoots, a tailored education programme and, New for 2021, a complimentary business education course for salon owners of the runner up in each category.
For those unable to attend in person, the TVA action was brought even close by giving a wider audience access to the free TVA Final Live Stream. Hosted by TVA 2019 Regionals host and radio presenter Elspeth Pierce, viewers enjoyed watching exclusive interviews with all show teams about the inspiration behind their shows.
