Cool Curtains by Jody Taylor

Why I chose this look…
“I was looking through a lot of 90s references – and, obviously, curtains are synonymous with that decade – but I wanted to work on curls to produce a grungier version.”

The cut…
“I cut one length through the front and graduated the back section to create a slight disconnection and build a strong line. I only did this because I was working on curly hair; it gave a triangular impression.”

The styling…
“The front wasn’t quite long enough, so the hair was dried forwarded, which actually created a bit of a bowl-shape rather than curtains, but in a month or so the curtains will be perfect. I used Taylored Bethnal Sheen – a paste mixed with a leave-in conditioner, which is really creamy and moisturising so good for frizzy or thick hair – through the hair before I cut it, and once again when it was dry, for medium hold and a natural finish.
