Sarah, a doctor in New York City, was wearing her hair pulled back most of the time – whether for work or just because she didn’t know what else to do with it. Working at the House of Bumble in New York’s Meatpacking District, Errol Douglas MBE sets her free with a short haircut that really complements her face shape and natural beauty

STEP 1
Prepare the hair with a liberal misting of Bumble and bumble Tonic Lotion. Part down the middle of the back of the head and section just below the occipital bone

STEP 2
Using a razor, cut in horizontally to remove length. You will see that by using a razor, the ends of the hair taper off to a thinner peak – scissors produce a blunter or chunkier look towards the ends

STEP 3
Continue working with the razor to connect the sides, then use the razor to round off the edges and create an even softer result

STEP 4
Once you have cut the hairstyle to the correct length, use your scissors to erase any cutting lines and create a natural transition. Remove tiny neck hairs with clippers

STEP 5
Bumble and bumble Styling Crème adds body and manageable volume. Apply before blow-drying
