#Throwback – Sally Brooks’s winning ‘Directional Look’ from Most Wanted 2002

Back in 2002, Sally Brooks was awarded the first ever Most Wanted ‘Directional Look’ title. She had just opened a new salon (Brooks & Brooks – you might have heard of it!) and her gorgeous, avant-garde winning image went on to grace the front cover of our November issue.

We caught up with Sally to reminisce about her haloed hair shot, and talk about just what the MWIT triumph meant to her.

“This image means a lot to me as it was photographed by the late, great, Stuart Weston. I had the pleasure of working with him for the first few years of my career and it was always an amazing experience.

“I love that this image has stood the test of time where all the elements work together and the hair, the photography and the model sums up the moment perfectly. This is the start of when I started bringing together the art of hair and photography. Thank you Stuart Weston for shooting this image for me.”
