When session stylist Brendan O’Sullivan takes to the road, his son and daughter come too.

Brendan O’Sullivan, the former creative director at Regis and now an independent salon owner and session stylist, was one of the onstage educators at the Unite Global Session VI event in San Diego this autumn. Accompanying him on the trip was his son, Luke, whose task was to film his father at work.

Says Brendan: “It’s great to work with Luke. Having been around hairdressing all his life he knows exactly the angles to film and what to capture. Due to his time backstage with myself and the likes of Gary Gill, James Pecis and Tina Outen, his hair videos have a real fashion influence but are shot in the style of a music video, making them a really unique within our industry.

“I also work with my 19-year-old daughter Rosie, who has managed model hair and make-up lists backstage since she was 15, working with some of the world’s top designers. They both travel all over the world with me; it’s a real privilege to be able to work with them.

“Luke is now booking me to style hair on his shoots! We recently shot an amazing Adidas campaign in Hong Kong and are currently working on a documentary of our journey to make our salon in Amersham sustainable. We’ve also opened a studio and education space above the salon where we are planning to teach stylists how to make their own hair/fashion films.”
