Get the look: Slick quiff with low ponytail at ERDEM S/S24

Salon owner and international session stylist Richard Phillipart led the hair team for the ERDEM S/S24 show, creating enhanced, natural textured looks

Taking place at the British Museum during London Fashion Week, Richard Phillipart led the hair team for the ERDEM S/S24 show, using My.Organics.

The collection, inspired by British aristocrat Deborah Cavendish, Duchess of Devonshire, whose love of art, culture, nature and history teamed with her unique personality and original approach to life influenced the direction for the hair looks.

“Taking the passion of the duchess for art in all its forms – from Rembrandt to Elvis – as our starting point, I have focused on her eclectic style, mixing contrasting aesthetics” says Richard. “At first glance the masculine, Elvis-inspired, slicked-back quiff is strong and alluring, featuring side-partings chosen to complement the models’ faces and slicked edges.”

The style is secured using a braiding technique developed by Richard to hug the head shape and enhance the silhouette, juxtaposing the exposed raw textured hair of the ponytail that catches the wind as they walk.

Step one: Prep the hair using My.Organics Supreme Shampoo to cleanse and My.Organics Miracle Mask treatment to douse the hair with intense nourishment without weighing it down.

Step two: Next, coat the hair generously with thickening spray and blast dry without a nozzle to enhance natural texture and swell the cuticles.

Step three: Apply My.Organics Strong Hold Mousse to the dry hair at the front, across the hairline and crown, to separate and sculpt the hair into a strong side-parting with a sweeping quiff. Use traceless grips to hold the hair in place while styling.

Step four: Spray the rest of the hair with My.Organics Hydrating Hairspray to enhance grip, and braid down the back of the head finishing tightly at the nape of the neck, then tie with elastic.

Step five: Leave the remaining hair exposed, hanging down the back in a ponytail.

Step six: Spray the ponytail with My.Organics My.Pure Biphasic for a polishing, detangling and anti-frizz finish, giving the hair incredible luminosity. For curly hair, use extra My.Organics Angel Potion for added moisture.

Step seven: Finish the look with My.Organics Modelling Wax for the slick face-framing tendrils and warm up a few pumps of the My.Organics Sublime Oil in your hands and slick over the front quiff for shine and adding more My.Organics Hydrating hairspray to set the look.

For natural, textured hair, being by oiling the scalp using My.Organics My.Pure Oil and apply generous amounts of My.Organics Hydrating Leave in Conditioner to nourish the hair.

Depending on each model’s individual hair texture, products were chosen to enhance the natural beauty of the hair rather than alter it. When braiding, Richard’s team used My.Organics Modelling Wax to control the hair giving braids an unparalleled shine and finished with My.Organics Strong Hold Mousse, applied plentiful all over, netted and set using a diffuser to seal down any fly away hairs.
