Gold Getters at Wella TrendVision UK & Ireland Final

Who won big at the 2019 Wella Professionals TrendVision Award UK & Ireland Final?

Toni&Guy enjoyed double success at the 2019 Wella Professionals TrendVision UK & Ireland at London’s iconic Roundhouse, winning both the Runway and Male Grooming category.

In the Creative Artist category, Sophie Kinloch from McIntyres won Gold for the UK while Leandro Santos Santana from Decode Hair grabbed the Gold for Ireland. In Color Artist, it was Gold for the UK’s Heather Mackenzie at The Style Bar and Ireland’s Clare Kenny at Flatiron.

All the Gold winners will now enjoy a trip to Seville in early 2020 for the International TrendVision Award Creative Retreat. They’ll be teamed up with other global winners to enjoy mentorship from big name artists and a photoshoot. Last year’s event in Lisbon included artist mentors such as Zoë Irwin, Akin Konizi, Jayson Gray and Darren Ambrose.

The UK & Ireland Runway and Male Grooming winners, Creative Artist and Color Artist Silver and Bronze winners, along with the two People’s Choice Award winners, will enjoy a mentoring day as well as other prizes including bespoke education.

Hosted by Saturday night TV veteran Vernon Kay and legendary Wella favourite Patrick Cameron, the duo introduced the winner of the Xposure student competition, Shauna Walsh from Crow Street Collective by Darren Lacken, who had been assisting Robert Eaton backstage. After dinner, the shows promised a triple threat of talent.

First up was Sassoon Academy, exploring its rich 65 year heritage in MonoFlouro, which shared mono tones infused with pure pigmentations, inspired by the work of Bauhaus master Josef Albers.

Next up was an embarrassment of riches as the Collaborate presentation saw HOB Salons, Sanrizz, Lara Johnson Lifestyle, Charlie Taylor, Crow Street Collective by Darren Lacken, Goldsworthys and D&J Ambrose celebrate diversity in beauty through the colour spectrum.

Finally, Wella UK technical director, Robert Eaton, and his team unveiled Celestial, an otherworldly presentation that made the most of the enormous box-style video screens suspended above the stage. It was a feast of strong, powerful silhouettes meshed with visionary tones and innovative colour.
