It’s countdown time for the IHF Icon Award 2023; nominations will open on 4 August, and will close 18 August.
There is a set criteria for nomination. According to the IHF, its members will be able to submit a nomination for up to two individuals in the industry that they feel are worthy of a IHF Icon Award. However, current members of the IHF Executive Committee or a past Icon Award recipient cannot be nominated.
The criteria also states that an Icon Award nomination should be for someone who has been in the industry for “a minimum of 10 years”, and “deserves to be recognised by their peers for being active in promoting hairdressing and/or barbering”. They must also be able to show they have “contributed to raising the profile of hairdressing and/or barbering in Ireland”.
A panel of judges will evaluate the nominees, with recipients of the award due to be announced in the last week of August. The awards ceremony will take place on 8 October at the IHF Gala Dinner Event at Lyrath Estate, Kilkenny.
