Winners unveiled ahead of IHF Gala on 8 October
The Irish Hairdressers Federation (IHF) has revealed the two lucky recipients of the Icon Award. Angie Dromgoole of Zeba Hairdressing (pictured above) and Cathal Keaveney of Peter Mark are the IHF’s new icons. The announcement comes shortly before the annual IHF Gala, which will take place at the Lyrath Estate in Kilkenny on 8 October.
The duo has been described as “two remarkable individuals” who “have left an unforgettable mark on our industry”, adding that the IHF “can’t wait to celebrate their outstanding contributions.”
Angie Dromgoole has been described by the IHF as a “trailblazer in the hairdressing world for decades” with an influence that “extends far beyond the salon chair”. She is commended for her technical innovation and creative vision, which has graced top fashion magazines, as well as her indestructible work ethic. She is seen by the IHF as not only a top stylist but a businesswoman and “industry icon” who is a source of inspiration for “countless professionals along the way”.
Cathal Keaveney director of the 69-strong salon chain Peter Mark, (pictured above), is credited as the “driving force behind the vast empire of Peter Mark salons spread throughout Ireland”. Known for his high-quality standards and passion for innovation, he also nurtures the industry’s up-and-coming talent. “Cathal’s commitment to excellence and his willingness to push boundaries makes him a true Icon,” said the IHF.
