John Frieda completed an epic cycle challenge around Ibiza earlier this month, raising over £150,000 for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity.
The fourth annual Round the Island Cycle Challenge took place from 1 -4 May and saw the celebrity stylist joined by more than 85 cyclists from across the hairdressing industry, who covered 190km in aid of the HAIRraising appeal. The campaign, which was founded by Frieda in 2010, has already raised £1 million to put towards a new Respiratory Unit at the children’s hospital and is well on its way to reaching its second £1 million milestone.
“I’m absolutely thrilled to have completed our fourth Ibiza Round the Island Cycle Challenge in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity,” said Frieda. “Thanks to the hard work and commitment of everyone who took part. It was tough at times but knowing it was for such a fantastic cause kept us going.”
Danielle Morgan from Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity added: “We’re really grateful to everyone who took part and we’re delighted to celebrate another successful year for the HAIRraising appeal and the Ibiza Round the Island Cycle Challenge. The funds raised are crucial to developing the Respiratory Unit which will make a real difference for seriously ill patients and their families.”
