The hair: Anthony Turner for Bumble and bumble
The Inspiration: 1930s shapes, Sunset Boulevard glamour and Marlene Dietrich-style deep side parts combined to reflect the casting lounge set-up for the show
The details: Anthony and the team began by working Thickening Full Form Mousse through the models’ damp hair, before applying Styling Lotion and roughly blow-drying the hair straight. They then gathered the hair in a low ponytail and secured it with thread so that it would remain hidden. Next, they rolled the hair up, making sure it spanned the entire width of the model’s head, and pinned it in place at the nape of the neck.
The team pulled strands of hair loose from the style to give it a more modern, romantic feel and to help add movement when the models walked the runway. To finish, Anthony personally added 1930s-style jewels around each girl’s roll so it looked like they were holding the hair in place, and spritzed the entire style with Classic Lacque Hairspray. A single bejewelled hair slide at the front of the head alongside the model’s parting completed the look.
