The hair: Sam Burnett for KMS California
The inspiration: Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride gave Sophia Webster the contemporary gothic setting for the presentation, and Edward Scissorhands provided the choppy texture and raw finish for the hair.
The details: Hair was prepped with KMS California Hairplay Sea Salt Spray and a fringe hairpiece was attached. To lift out some of the weight and create a choppy, deconstructed look, a razor then scissors were used to cut into the “winge”. It was then styled using Addvolume Volumizing Spray, and had Hairstay Styling Gel applied over the top. Product was then dried in using a diffuser. To create a rawness, pieces of hair were crimped, and hair was blasted with Hairplay Playable Texture. The roots were teased out and hair was twisted and pinned in random sections to shorten the front and add a heaviness around the crown. The look was finished with a hairdryer and Hairstay Maximum Hold Spray to secure the shape.
The products: Sea Salt Spray, Addvolume Volumizing Spray, Hairstay Styling Gel, Hairplay Playable Texture and Hairstray Maximum Hold Spray, all by KMS California
