The hair: John Vial with the Schwarzkopf Pro ambassadorial team
The inspiration: The regulars at Charles Jeffrey’s ultra-cool London club night ‘Loverboy’ (who celebrate their individuality and fly their colourful freak flags with pride) and the bold, shattered shapes found in Picasso’s signature works
The details: The Schwarzkopf Pro team took three approaches when preparing the street-cast models’ hair:
Those with mid-length hair were given precise, slick finger waves, created with OSiS Gelastic Ultra Strong Flex Gel a fine-toothed comb and a steady hand. Once the entire head was gelled into place, the style was set in place with OSiS Rock Hard Extreme Glue and a blowdryer fitted with a diffuser.
Models with closely-cropped hair had their heads treated like canvases – decorated with bold colours before being embellished with pigment and dusted with glitter. When not applied directly to the scalp, glitter was packed on to select areas of the head with OSiS Rock Hard Extreme Glue.
Finally, models with long hair were given messy, textured and braided styles. Dry hair was blasted with OSiS+ Session Label Volumising Root Spray Mousse, before being rough dried upside down. A second spritz of product was added prior to the hair being dried upside down again, this time while it was rolled and roughed up between stylists’ hands to add further grip and to exaggerate the fractured, piecey texture. Those with braids also had bright wefts of pre-plaited hair added to their own lengths.
The products: OSiS Gelastic Ultra Strong Flex Gel, OSiS Rock Hard Extreme Glue and OSiS+ Session Label Volumising Root Spray Mousse, all by Schwarzkopf Professional.
