Look who’s talking!

MEET OUR MAINSTAGERS
Move over, Glasto. The Salon Smart Mainstage is where the action’s at this year!

Over two action-packed days, some of the industry’s most exciting names will be sharing their stories of what’s working (or not) in their salons – setting off little lightbulbs in your own mind about what might work in yours.

Billy Fry and Ellenora Dean had big ideas for their dream salon… so they launched it. But opening a salon in London takes more than ideas, so did the reality live up to the expectation?

If you’re thinking about expanding your empire, make sure you listen to Sam Burnett, talking about his experience opening his second salon (some bits were good, some frankly scary!) and Gavin Mills, the whizzkid at Big Apple, who’s got some advice to share about staying true to your brand when expanding rapidly.

MONDAY – MAINSTAGE

Two women who both left big brands to go it alone – Christel Lundqvist and Katie Allan – are teaming up on Mainstage to share their personal approaches to building a flourishing colour salon. It’s fascinating to see how they’re each carving their niche and doing things their way!

Looking for more clients? Sarah Vigrass, data and insights director at Treatwell, comes to Salon Smart armed with 11 years’ experience of working with salons to achieve just that. She knows what works, and what doesn’t – both online and in ‘real life’.

And of course, Salon Smart wouldn’t be Salon Smart without 3.6.5’s education director Ken West discussing industry issues and revealing the bold moves salons are making to turn their businesses around.

We all know how purposeful hairdressing is as a profession – and here’s the proof. Mark Maciver’s exceptional passion for business and for his community has led his Slidercuts barbershop in Hackney to become a source of education and empowerment for local kids – he and his team will be on Mainstage on Monday. Meanwhile, we’re honoured that Tom Chapman, founder of the globally recognised Lions Barber Collective, which campaigns on mental health, will be opening our event on Sunday with a powerful message about mindfulness in business.

MONDAY FINALE – MAINSTAGE

And finally, to close Salon Smart 2020 in spectacular fashion, we’re thrilled to welcome session star Kenna as our finale interview. How on earth does he juggle two salons (one on either side of the Atlantic!) with megawatt clients like Gigi Hadid, and be so kind and funny and look so cool all the time? We’re about to find out…

Salon Smart takes place 29-30 March 2020
at the 4* Park Plaza London Riverbank hotel on London’s South Bank
