Martha Galvin wins big at IHF gala event

IHF Hairdressing Championships reveals success from across the country

Martha Galvin, founder of Allure Hair & Beauty in County Mayo, is the IHF Hairdresser of the Year for the second year running. She won the big prize and trophies in four other categories at the annual IHF Hairdressing Championships, held at the Lyrath Estate in Kilkenny.  

Caoimhe Feeley, from Salon 2 in Sligo, scooped the IHF Irish Trainee Hairdresser of the Year, while the IHF Star Team will feature Tiegan Neary (Allure Hair & Beauty, Mayo), Thomas Lacey (Karl Martin Hairdressing, Wexford), Rebecca Kearney (Brown Sugar, Dublin), Ciara Harrington (Lynda Mahers Hair Studio, Carlow) and Lucy Monks (The Hair Company Broadstone, Dublin). 

IHF president, Lisa Eccles, said: “The IHF Irish Hairdressing Championships is a celebration of the world class hair stylists we have here in Ireland. Once again, the calibre of the entries and the winners shows that Ireland really punches above its weight when it comes to hairdressing talent.’’ 

The Irish Hairdressers Federation represents more than 500 salon owners nationwide, who in turn employ more than 7,000 stylists.
