Thurles-based hairdresser takes over role from Wayne Lloyd
Mary Duffy of Azu Creative Hair in Thurles is the new president of the Irish Hairdressing Council, taking over from Wayne Lloyd.
A founding member of the industry body, which offers free memberships to hairdressers at any stage of their career, Mary ranks education, training, and international competitions among her passions and is a known supporter and co-ordinator of Team Ireland for the OMC Championships. She herself has competed all over the world and treasures her 15 OMC medals, the most won for Ireland by a single hairdresser to date. In 2022, she was awarded the OMC Outstanding Achievement Award in Paris.
Mary said in a statement that is proud to be seeing the Council through its next chapter. The vice president, who will succeed Shaun Moriarty of the Greene Room, has yet to be confirmed.
