Earth-shaking. Headline-making. Game changing. All the MWIT Grand Final action that’s fit to print!
Breaking news – this year’s Most Wanted & The It List Awards were a storming success, with a glittering line-up of British and Irish hair talent being crowned 2019’s finest!
For the first time, London’s Printworks played host to the spectacular Grand Final, with the dramatic architecture of the former newspaper press halls echoing with the buzz of over 700 hairdressers, colourists and industry influencers.
And with a brand new venue came a fresh new host; BAFTA Breakthrough Brit winner – and tornado of comedy talent – Luisa Omielan, who had guests in stitches throughout. The 2019 ceremony marked ten years of The It List, and this milestone for one half of the most highly-anticipated and rewarding night in the hairdressing calendar didn’t disappoint, with a delectable menu, delicious and super-‘grammable cocktails, an enviable guest-list and spectacular visuals at every turn.
Of course, the true stars of the show were the Most Wanted and It List winners, but as ever, the night was a celebration of ALL the fierce, fearless and downright fabulous finalists in the room. A chance to appreciate their hard work, their trailblazing talents and their momentous achievement in even making the shortlist. You. Guys. ROCK!
The 2019 champions represent a wide and wondrous range of what makes the British and Irish hairdressing industry so inspiring, so forward-thinking and so full of heart. Ireland gained a Most Wanted Legend (arise Sir Bradshaw!), The Lion’s Barbers roared to victory in the Award for Innovation, Phil Benton graduated from 2018 It List Entrepreneur to Most Wanted 2019 Best New Boutique Salon owner, and Sarah Black kicked off a triple-winning night for Aberdeen’s Linton & Mac by scooping the coveted It Girl title.
From creative colourists and runway rebels, to local salon heroes, tireless educators, pioneers, trendsetters … and the certified iconic stylists – well done to each and every one of you, and thank you for putting our industry at the very top!
And thank you to our astonishingly generous sponsors, and the awesome judges who shared so much of their time to find our worthy winners. There certainly ain’t no party like a MWIT party, and next year marks two decades of CHM… so 2020, what do you say?
