My Space: KOOP Studio, London

Aspiring to be a “hair salon with a difference” KOOP Studio in South West London focuses on “the enhancement and celebration of natural beauty and the individual.” On a mission to build the clients’ confidence and focus on their well-being, the studio space has been designed to deliver a unique client experience.

“At the core of KOOP’s ethos is the idea of focusing on and perfecting the essential elements of the service and experience,” explains Brice Boidin, founding director of the space. “We believe that simplicity is key to cultivating a winning concept. This core value transcends everything we do – from the look and feel of the salon, through to how we style hair.” 

In terms of the interiors vibe, it feels fresh and bright with an on-trend colour palette of pastel hues and aesthetic details worthy of any Instagram feed. “We have aspired to create a contemporary and unique environment with a focus on the client experience,” says Brice. “We’ve been inspired by nature and the beauty of its imperfection. The space is designed to reflect our core values, with an open, light, fresh space that embraces a raw, authentic, unrefined aesthetic,” he adds.

Minimal, modern but thoroughly inviting, the mint green, leather chairs pop against the backdrop of pale pink walls. With a clear eye for detail, there’s numerous vases and decor pieces carefully placed around the space, with dried flowers and eucalyptus adding a natural touch.  “The studio is versatile and encourages creativity. It is intended to be a sensory experience, with a connection to nature and its ever changing beauty. We want it to be a flexible work space for like-minded creatives.”
