After seasons of natural, undone hair on the fashion capital’s catwalks, colour is really enjoying a moment in the spotlight… and PAINTER Amy Fish is beyond thrilled

Every now and then, fashion showed an interest in colour on the catwalk, but this recent AW18 season, it’s became ever more so popular and really made a statement. Oh, and we love a strong colour game! I love creating colour for shows as I feel it really makes an impact. I love seeing what other hairdressers are doing and I love even more how we all share our formulas. I’d think sometimes we forget about all the hard graft and effort that goes into fashion shows. Hours and hours of hard work from all areas of the show team. Hair, make-up, production, styling… it’s not easy, but for me these hours of colouring hair and hair pieces to match to the exact colour, well they’re all made worthwhile when you see the final show. There’s no better feeling than that! So, let me share my favourite shows so far…
Larry King for MCM
Larry really wanted to create some colour in this show as the clothes are very bright and fun. Harriet and myself coloured many hair pieces to match the vibrant shades of the clothes. Larry then placed them in the hair to create the colour pop. Every model had different styled hair so it was really fun and creative.
Josh Wood for Valentino
I absolutely love what Redken’s Guido and Josh created for this couture show. I love that Josh Wood shared his formulas and inspiration for this look. I love how he matched wigs to the models Colour and then added “ribbons” of sun kissed pieces. Thank for keeping us inspired Josh.
Tina Outen for Palm Angels
Such a fun show. I love the vibrant creativity Tina brings on her shows. Never afraid to push the boundaries.
Victoria Hunter for Dolce & Gabbana
LOVE this mermaid vibe, such strong couture looks. I adore the paleness of these colours with hair accessories to add to these dramatic looks.
