Those looking to shake things up this can take their colour into this darker version of blonde that’s set to be huge next season – Tobacco Yellow is smoking hot in more ways than one. This is a version of the Gen Z yellow colour trend we saw so much of last season, but this incarnation is made more wearable by creating a dirtier, muted finish. I look at that as my ‘signature colour’, as all my favourite palettes and tones have a slightly dusky finish. I love taking a colour trend and making it my own.

I think you’ve got to brave to pull this colour off. The girl I envisage wearing it isn’t super polished – she has a fierce attitude. I think we’re going to see the yellow obsession move to a more mustard tone for Spring/Summer 2019, evolving from the canary and neon yellows of seasons past. This trend is a more edgy, wearable version and perfect for girls looking to shake up their colour.

On a base pre-lightened to level 9 (working with a 7 week re-growth) I used 50g Sun Yellow + 10g Electric Purple, from the L’Oréal Professionnel #COLORFULHAIR range
