Kim Kelly wins National Apprentice Award
Patrick Gildea Hairdressing’s Kim Kelly has won a National Apprentice of the Year Award. The Irish government’s Generation Apprenticeship project, administered by SOLAS, spans a wide range of industries, including accounting, engineering, and hospitality, as well as the more recently launched National Hairdressing Apprenticeship. Kim, who is in her second year at the Donegal salon, was one of 12 to be chosen from 187 apprentices. She received her award from Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science of Ireland, Simon Harris, at Dublin’s Mansion House.
“What an amazing achievement for young team member Kim to get such an amazing award! We are so proud of Kim. Kim’s talent, dedication, and passion for hairdressing is something that every young person should aspire to,” said Patrick, a multiple award-winning salon owner.
Speaking about her success Kim commented: “I am delighted and completely over the moon to have received this award. It means so much to me to get recognised for my hard work and commitment as I have such a passion for hairdressing and always strive to do my very best. I am so focused and dedicated to my apprenticeship and to receive this award is a huge step in my career.”
