REVEALED Clients feel safe back in salons

New post-lockdown research from L’Oréal Professional Products Division shows that clients feel safe and more relaxed after returning to the salon

We may be facing growing restrictions and further financial pressures on business, but there is some good news. An impressive 95% of people who returned to the salon felt safe post-lockdown, with 96% feeling the same or better than usual after their salon appointment compared to how they usually feel after an appointment pre-lockdown.

These results come from research commissioned by L’Oréal Professional Products Division*, which includes brands such as L’Oréal Professionnel, Kérastase, Redken and Matrix, to discover how women feel after returning to the salon, and how salons continue to deliver an exceptional experience in the current climate.

As well as delivering high hygiene standards, across the board salons have ensured that clients can still enjoy a great experience. More than nine in 10 surveyed (93%) felt equally or more relaxed and pampered on their post-lockdown salon visit and 95% feeling the salon was clean and hygienic.

“Clients have been feeling grateful that we have made so much effort to make them and the team safe. It was a nice refreshing feeling for them to re-establish their pre-lockdown routine as well as experiencing the much needed the feel-good factor. As we are fortunate to have a larger salon, we are able to maintain a pre-Covid environment whilst meeting the social distancing rules. This has given the clients a sense of normality in such unprecedented times.”Elena Lavagni, Neville Hair and Beauty and L’Oréal Salon Partner

The new research from L’Oréal Professional Products Division demonstrates just how safe clients felt when returning post-lockdown; 94% were satisfied that measures in place were sufficient to reduce Covid-19 risk. Many salon team members and hairdressers have also completed additional training, such as the L’Oréal Access Hygiene & Safety E-learning Certificate, which has been specifically designed to train salons and hairdressers on hygiene and safety measures.
