JAS HAIR, SALISBURY – HOW WE MADE IT BIG IN OUR LOCAL TOWN

Salisbury owes a great deal to Jayne Prigent and her husband Neil. Their salon, Jas Hair, actively championing independent businesses, urging customers to ‘shop local’ and helping to stem the tide of national brands flooding the city’s high streets. No wonder Jas Hair has twice been voted Most Wanted Local Salon in Creative HEAD’s annual awards.

But although Jayne and Neil are passionate about their local community, they’re not afraid to put business first – even when that meant a serious staff cull in 2008 (“Everybody went – even stylists bringing in decent money”) in order to start afresh and grow the salon in new and different ways.

Onstage at Salon Smart, Jayne will be sharing her experiences (some good, some not so!) about engaging and working with other local businesses, and providing hints and tips on how to make your salon a vital part of the local community. NB This month Jas Hair celebrates 25 years in business.
