Richard was 13 when he first took a Saturday job at a local salon. He produced his own artisan hair show aged just 16, and at 22 opened The Boutique in Ellesmere Port – pouring the lessons he learned and passions he developed into a salon business that flourished and thrived under his creative direction. A decade later, Richard now manages a staff of 25 and recently expanded into a larger premises to rebrand as The Boutique Atelier.

Fiercely passionate about education – he’s a sought-after educator in his own right (his team receives continuous training), and a big player on the session circuit – he’s regularly booked on the backstage teams at all four Fashion Weeks and has worked for big names and brands including Chanel, Dior, Balmain Paris, L’Oréal Professionnel, BaByliss PRO and Erdem; Richard successfully manages to juggle salon ownership with an independent session career.
