Schwarzkopf Professional does an EXTRA Big Hair Do!

The Creative HEAD and Layered Online team visited Schwarzkopf Professional salons across the UK and Ireland last night (June 20), as for the first time, the brand held its very own Big Hair Do. Hairdressers spruced up their stations and threw open their doors for a unique “experience” evening, designed to show the public just how amazing our salons and the talented staff who run them are.

Events across the land saw stylists raising funds for charity, reinforcing their connection to the local community, and of course, sharing their knowledge. As well as demonstrating styling tool techniques and showing off Schwarzkopf Professional products and services, teams were dispensing hair hacks, discussing the latest trends and solving hair dilemmas. Here the CHM and Layered crew share their glittering highlights from the 100 salons that took part…

“Small but perfectly formed, Hill Head Hair & Beauty in Hill Head (just outside Fareham in Hampshire) is a third-generation, family-run salon business… that knows how to throw a hair party! The shop was packed with people when I arrived, was warmly greeted by the team ,and immediately offered a glass of Pimm’s, before I explored the treats in store for guests. There was a braid bar (now a Big Hair Do event staple), a blow-dry station, an oil treatment zone and style advice and trials on tap for school-leavers, who were getting their glam on for prom night.

While the stylists worked, and the drinks flowed, the tills were also busy – the Hill Head crew shifted A LOT of retail during their ’Do – Schwarzkopf Professional’s Goodbye Yellow (which neutralises warm tones in coloured hair) sold like hot cakes! Before I left, I was lucky enough to watch some fast and impressive 1920s styling in action, as two dancers – getting ready for a performance of The Great Gatsby at their local theatre – hopped into the chair to get their locks expertly rolled and put up by stylist Rebecca Chambers. I also discovered that Hill Head Hair & Beauty’s #BigHairDoSKP event is to be covered by Portsmouth News next week, and I’m not surprised. It’ll be the icing on the cake for this fabulous salon – congrats to all the team for hosting a hugely successful night!”

“In a quaint village just outside of St Neots, lies Olympus Hair Design. The remodelled barn houses a hair salon and beauty rooms and is the very definition of a country retreat. Despite it’s more remote location, it was a crush when we arrived with four styling stations set up to provide consultations, waves, braids and temporary colour. Prosecco in hand, guests were treated to a wash and blow-dry using the new Schwarzkopf Professional BlondMe Blush Wash – a no-commitment in-salon toning and sulphate-free cleanser (it colours as it cleans – genius!). The salon also used the night to launch its new service, Schwarzkopf Professional Oil Ultime ceremony, providing guests with a relaxing scalp cleanse and head massage using precious purified oils. The night finished with a raffle, with a beautiful bouquet of flowers, Schwarzkopf Professional BlondMe goodies and beauty products up for grabs. I could get used to this country living…”

scots-2“Clients old and new arrived at 77 The Hill in Enfield greeted with a glass of prosecco with raspberries, piles of chocolates, strawberries, marshmallows and cookies. Once they were full of fizz and sweet treats, it was time to get some personalised hair advice – some clients were complaining of thinning hair, while others were bored of their colour. For a quick transformation, guests were invited to try out the new Schwarzkopf Professional BlondMe Blush Wash in strawberry and lilac, which adds a pop of colour – perfect for festivals or summer parties. And once they had achieved the hair of their dreams (in just 10 minutes!), they could find out about Bounce trampolining classes – there were two instructors on hand to chat about it and even a mini trampoline so budding fitness fanatics could have a go. All in all, it was a night to remember – and will surely have the clients coming back for more!”
