No fear here! Building confidence with SELF/STYLED Sunday

by | 22 Mar 2021

With re-opening tantalisingly close, the third instalment of SELF/STYLED Sunday offered a boost for freelancers to dust off the cobwebs and have their skills sharpened for this crucial time.

SELF/STYLED’s intention has always been to provide freelancers with the support and community that can be missing when you strike out alone. As the 12 April and re-opening draws near, SELF/STYLED Sunday provided a full digital agenda of educational and interactive content to equip viewers with the knowledge and skills needed to set their freelance businesses apart from the masses.

SELF/STYLED Sundays, in association with Aston & Fincher, delivers masterclasses and business webinars designed specifically for freelance artists, and provides viewers with exclusive discounts on Aston & Fincher as an extra cherry on top of the educational cake.

The morning kicked off with two SELF/MADE Masterclasses. Nancy Stripe, a newly minted guest artist for L’Oréal Professionnel Paris, showcased how to utilise toners to create a fresh take on effortless blonde work. Using L’Oréal Professionnel Paris Dia Light toners, she shared some of her favourite formulas for a sparkling champagne finish and more.

Next was Ria Kulik for Matrix, demonstrating various techniques from colour melts to clever pivoting sectioning for seamless blonde work. She reached for several of the new Matrix products, including new shades of the SoColor range which will be perfect for counteracting unwanted redness, and Matrix Light Master Bonder Inside for lightening which protects the hair with bonding agents included.

After a short break, it was time to talk PR strategy for re-opening with SLBPR‘s director Sharon Brigden. She laid out some of the important messaging that everyone should be undertaking ahead of re-opening, with some key advice about structuring your time and social media approach.

Styling took centre stage next, with Emmanuel Esteban for Diva PRO Styling. He used three doll heads to demonstrate how high-fashion, avant garde techniques can be adapted and toned down to offer a stylish finish for clients that they won’t have seen before, and have them coming back for more once they’ve had a taste. His love for the Diva Pro Micro Stick was evident, wielding it in multiple ways, along with the genius Air Curl and Atmos dryer.

(If you know, you know).
