Top tips we learned from SELF/STYLED Sunday

There were so many pearls of wisdom dropped in our SELF/STYLED Sunday event all about ‘The New To Know’!
From adding a fresh spin on classic techniques to brand new technology and new approaches to business, everything was focused on how you can build up your freelance business for greater success.

Our all-star line-up on 29 May included a speedy extensions masterclass from Great Lengths, key influencer marketing advice from Katie Braden PR, a new approach to classic techniques for impact via L’Oréal Professionnel Paris, and the latest in colour technology direct from the Wella Professionals Studio.

SELF/STYLED Sundays, held on Zoom, have always been about building community, providing a safe space to ask questions, and providing key education to help freelancers keep up-to-date with our ever-changing industry. Live viewers were also treated to an exclusive discount code from our brilliant event partners, Aston & Fincher, to stock up on some of the products mentioned in the masterclasses.

Here’s just some of the key advice we took away from each of the sessions. You can re-watch all of the sessions on our Facebook page now – remember, only ticket holders and live viewers get that all-important code for Aston & Fincher!

Our next SELF/STYLED Sunday event is on 31 July, you can sign up for news right here.

Great Lengths – Breaking down the barriers of hair extensions

Don’t fear application. You use foils when colouring hair, day in and day out, so you are already an expert in placement.Adam Wright

Katie Braden PR – The inside story on Influencer Marketing

Platforms like TikTok are so focused on community and engagement. When you’re trying to decide which influencers might be the best to reach out to, remember to have a look in their comments. It’s not all about the likes. Has that person got an active community?Katie Braden

L’Oréal Professionnel Paris – Impactful Placement

Trends are a guideline, not a finished result. A face-frame section is a trend, but I’ve used that idea to create something a little bit different.Frazer Wallace

Wella Professionals – Get glazing with SHINEFINITY

People want the quality of hair they had previously in half the time. Shinefinity is very forgiving, it looks like you’ve done a lot more work than you maybe have because of the tonality and reflects you get.James Earnshaw
