The Greatest Hits of 2022: The Heist House

Throughout December, we’re reflecting on 2022’s greatest new locations. Some new ventures, some new on the radar and some new refits…

This week’s Greatest Hit takes us to Warwick, which is the home of Most Wanted ‘Best New Salon’ for 2022, The Heist House by Nashwhite. More than just a salon, Nashwhite believes creating the ideal environment is the key to bringing out the best in its team and community across its sites. What was once was a bank in the ‘70s – hence the name – now offers hair, coffee, events, studio space, yoga, photography, and a place to work.

“We invite our members to drop in and tune out,” explain Nashwhite founders Lee Nash-Jones and Rob White. “A members’ house feeling, without the membership, we want everyone who walks through our doors to feel welcome, at ease and to leave inspired. The building and interiors play a key role, from the textured rugs and velvet sofas to the way we’ve opened the space and framed the surrounding views.” 

The interior has been stripped back of everything to reveal the original building and allow for new areas leading to the roof terrace, garden and beyond. They reclaimed and salvaged as much as possible to respect the legacy of the site, the planet and their own budget, including wooden floors and lights from old buildings, restaurants and warehouses, antique tiles from salvage yards, and workbenches from an old industrial carpet warehouse. The overall atmosphere is multi-layered and a little bit undone.
