Triona Holian takes us around her new HeadRush salon Creative HEAD Magazine

Meet Triona Holian, senior stylist and owner of HR2, her newly opened second salon in Letterkenny, Donegal

Triona Holian has recently opened HR2, her second HeadRush salon in Letterkenny, Donegal. Right in the middle of one of the busiest times in her career, she speaks to Creative HEAD about her inspirations and motivations behind this exciting new venture…

CH: What was the drive behind opening HR2?

TH: When I first opened my small salon in the Mountain Top area, I had a young family so I wanted to work hours that allowed me to be a mum and a hair stylist. As my kids grew so did my salon. So, I wanted to grow and do the same again.

CH: What does HR2 represent?

TH: It represents that hard work pays off! It also shows my confidence in my amazing team and how teamwork and friendship are at the core of my business.

CH: Who are your kind of customers?

TH: My customers vary from every age. We have ladies in every Saturday morning for their blow-dries and to have the craic, and we also have the young cool girls looking to have the most on-trend styles all the way to young men getting perms – which has started to be a big trend here.

CH: What sort of environment have you created?

TH: Our environment is “good vibes only” – this is our motto in both salons, we don’t accept negativity. We get on so well together and often have nights out on the town after work, we are friends and co-workers, and I just love that.

CH: What services are you most proud of providing?

TH: I run a scalp and hair loss clinic and that for me is the most rewarding service. I meet the most beautiful people and I get to help build their confidence with their hair loss journey.

CH: Any exciting launches/events/education that we should know about?

TH: I’m super excited about a couple of things – I’m part of the AOD team with ALFAPARF Milano Professional, it’s an elite education programme for stylists who are mentored by leading industry experts in Ireland. This year has been so exciting with trips to Milan and Rome. I’ll also be going to Barcelona and London in the coming months to meeting amazingly talented hairstylists. Also, my salon has been named a finalist in the Irish Hair and Beauty Awards, I’m so excited for that in September. Finally, my salon will be the first in the Northwest to play host to the fabulous Bellami Hair extensions training. There’s a lot coming up!
