HOB Academy, Wella Collective, Stil and Cobella shows impress as UK and Irish stylists compete at Wella Professionals’ annual competition

HOB Salons and House of Colour scooped the big trophies at the Wella Professionals TrendVision Award UK & Ireland Final, securing the prestigious Colour Visionary gongs.
About 700 guests surrounded an interlocking central catwalk at Magazine London for Wella Professionals’ iconic annual competition, hosted by newly-MBE’d Patrick Cameron and joined in part by Irish stylist Fergal Doyle.
For those who couldn’t make it to London, radio presenter, Elspeth Pierce, presented the virtual broadcast, where fans tuned in from around the world to experience all the action.
Alongside the colour and cutting awards – which included People’s Choice trophies, voted for by the public – three exceptional shows kept the artistry sky high all night.

Running alongside it was Outré from STIL, offering a hybrid of traditional Scandinavian design merged with unconventional shapes and silhouettes. Rose gold-kissed uber long lengths rocked the runway along with copper infused curls and a classically sharp blonde bob with a contrasting inky ombré edge.

Finally, HOB Academy welcomed us into its Ethereal world, with a showcase of vivid colours and delicate textures, accompanied with strong geometric shapes. Against a backdrop of stark white and sparkling silver wardrobe choices, it delivered a visual spectacle of powerful silhouettes and striking colour, illustrating the possibilities using Illumina and Koleston Perfect from Wella Professionals.
The event also revealed Wella’s partnership with The Little Princess Trust, unveiling four country champions to help encourage salons to get involved through donations and offering wig services to children who have lost their hair through treatment for cancer. Sarah Mason (Ireland), Lara Johnson (Wales), Charlie Taylor (Scotland) and Liam Fry (England) spoke movingly from the stage about the positive impact salons can have on both the children impacted and on fundraising for research into kinder treatments.
After all the winners were revealed, the after party offered a veritable feast of sweet entertainment, including edible (and alcohol-laced) bubbles and instant handmade lollies and ice cream. An evening to leave one’s mouth watering…
