We’re thrilled to announce that Salon Smart, our business networking event for salon owners and managers, returns to the Park Plaza London Riverbank Hotel on 29 and 30 March 2020 – and everything will be geared to helping you build and plan for the future
We know you want to change and expand your salon business, so we’ll be discussing all the different ways you can make progress, whether that’s choosing sustainability or upscaling (or downsizing!), with new ideas and real experiences shared by some of the UK’s most exciting and forward-thinking salon owners. All this, plus live hairdressing demos, practical workshops, a chance to sample the latest products from some of the most innovative brands in professional hairdressing – and so much more!
Among the speakers you’ll hear from: Tom Chapman – barber and founder of The Lions Barber Collective, which campaigns for the awareness of mental wellbeing and male suicide prevention, believing that the barbershop is a great, safe environment to talk; Gavin Mills – digital marketer, entrepreneur and managing director of the fast-growing and award-winning Bad Apple salon group, with branches around the West Midlands and in Topshop; and Sam Burnett – the award-winning session stylist opened his stripped-back fashion-focused Hare & Bone salon in London’s Fitzrovia in 2014, and has now added a second in his home town of Esher in Surrey.
Meanwhile, new business partners Ellenora Dean and Billy Fry will report on the launch of their new salon, Fry + Dean, and how they turned a dream into reality; business coach Ken West returns to the Salon Smart stage, this time to talk about power of change and the bold moves that can transform salon business; and we’ll be getting to know Mark Maciver and the SliderCuts crew in a frank and fabulous Team Talk session – find out what makes this Hackney squad tick!
Be prepared for some brilliant business bites as Monica Teodoro, general manager of L’Oréal Professionnel in the UK and Ireland, and Sarah Vigrass, the data and insights director at Treatwell, also take up the lectern.
An awesome mix of great minds will meet on the main stage for two popular panel sessions across the two-day event. For Sunday’s Great Debate, experts – including Elena Lavagni, owner of Neville Hair & Beauty; salon owners Leo Bancroft and Jordanna Cobella; and Anita Rice, co-founder of Buller & Rice – will tackle Salon Smart 2020’s key concept of ‘progress’, exploring ways to build and prepare for the future. On Monday, get your business issues solved in a live Q&A session, Think Tank, by the likes of Mark Woolley, the founder of Electric and winner of the Most Wanted 2019 Business Thinker award.
If that wasn’t enough, settled in on Sunday night for some insanely creative inspiration as we turn the spotlight on Richard Phillipart, owner of The Boutique Atelier in Cheshire and his team. It’s going to be epic…
