On The Floor (in the HUB): Your next team
According to a report by the National Hair & Beauty Federation, in March last year, 60 per cent of hair and beauty salons had unfilled vacancies and apprenticeship starts had fallen to less than half the number of five years ago. Some bleak stats indeed. But with 2023 set to see the launch of the new T Level qualification in Hairdressing, Barbering and Beauty Therapy, (promising an overhauled approach to college education), could a new, untapped pool of learners be on the horizon?
We want to hear from you, the salon and barber shop employers seeking your next team. Interested in joining? Here’s all you need to know:
WHAT IS IT?
A virtual discussion led by members of the Creative HEAD team, to understand the issues you’re facing with recruitment, what you see as the solutions and your thoughts on college vs apprenticeship learners, including what you know about the new T Level.
WHO IS IT FOR?
Anyone who employs newly qualified hair professionals or offers apprenticeships within their salon, barber shop or hairdressing workspace.
WHEN IS IT?
Monday 20 February, 9.25am to 10.30am.
WHY ARE WE DOING IT?
To understand the concerns facing employers in the hairdressing industry right now and to support you with relevant information via Creative HEAD platforms.
