A BBC crime drama set in a village salon is launching in July. The Hairdresser Mysteries stars Sally Phillips as a ‘70s stylist Lily Petal who leaves the competitive city scene to buy a small village hairdressing salon at the top of a cobbled street.

Her and salon assistant Clary Coombs (played by Charlotte Jordan) use their positions in the centre of village gossip – because clients tell their hairdresser everything – to help solve local mysteries

Created by Jim Cartwright, the author behind The Rise and Fall of Little Voice, The Hairdresser Mysteries will be on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in July.
