Fresha introduce a brand-new way to keep appointments adding up

Fresha waitlists

If you’re all too familiar with the frustration of booking changes and cancellations, then managing your salon bookings is about to get a whole lot easier. Salon software brand Fresha has introduced waitlists to ensure that you can keep the bookings coming, no matter what changes.

Let the waitlist fill in those empty slots so you don’t have to worry about cancellations or changes in your schedule. Waitlists allow for better insight into your clients, ensuring you and your team members can make more informed business decisions factoring your most popular times and services.

If you spot lots of clients joining the waitlist for time slots you don’t usually offer, you might decide to change your opening hours.

Not being able to book on to the appointment slot they want to can be frustrating for your client, so introducing waitlists gives them a better user experience and helps make the booking process smoother, even if their ideal appointment isn’t available yet.

It’s not just cancellations that are covered by waitlists, but changes in yours and your team’s schedule. Now switching hours or moving around other appointments doesn’t mean you’re missing out. It simply opens up new booking slots, and if there’s anyone on the waitlist, they can book immediately.

How does it work for clients?

As the client goes to book on your marketplace profile, they’ll see a ‘join waitlist’ button next to appointment slots that are already booked or unavailable. They can choose other times and dates that suit them, too, to give them the best chance at getting the appointment that works for them.

They’ll simply get a text and email letting them know if the slot becomes available, and they can book right away.

How can I manage my waitlist?

You get to decide who to offer the appointment slot to when it becomes available. Just choose between four options:

First in line: Fresha notifies the client that was first to join the waitlist.

Highest value: Fresha notifies the client who wants to book the most expensive service.

Offer to all: Fresha sends an email and text out to everyone on the waitlist, and see who books first.

Manual: You browse the clients on the waitlists and choose who to book.

Waitlists can also help attract new clients too. Being fully booked tells them that your services are in high demand and drives a sense of urgency to get booked in. For existing clients that have a habit of booking sporadically, a text alert notifying them that a slot has become available could be the difference between getting them back in the salon or going elsewhere!

Creative HEAD is thrilled to announce tickets are on sale now for the 2024 Most Wanted and It list Grand Final, where 22 trophies will be bestowed.

Taking place on Monday 2 September, hairdressing’s ‘hot ticket’ event moves this year to Beams – a brand new lofty East London location by the River Thames, which has already played host to big brands like Bentley and Converse, and globally acclaimed DJs including  Skepta and The Martinez Brothers. Launched as a centre for new culture, the authentically preserved former warehouse is now getting set for our gathering of the industry’s greatest – to witness the spectacle of 700 A-listers from the worlds of hair, fashion, the media and beyond dressed up to the max – coming together to celebrate the crowning of 16 Most Wanted and six It List winners.

Over the years, as well as platforming the most accomplished and exciting talents in British and Irish hairdressing, the Most Wanted and It List Grand Final has welcomed to the stage comedians like Katherine Ryan and Jack Whitehall, beatboxer Mr Fox and drag act, Sync The Pink. Working with the most stylish caterers in town, the event is always fully loaded with sensational food and drink – only the coolest offerings make it onto our Grand Final menus. Our photography and video teams are everywhere on the night, capturing every minute of every magic moment – including exclusive content for our souvenir supplement (featuring imagery from our specially commissioned and now famous Grand Final photo shoot).

From doors open to guest departure, we work hard to make sure every single Grand Final attendee is having the most wonderful time. The icing on the cake? Everything is included in the ticket price (including the after-party bar) – the only reason to bring your wallet is for the taxi ride home.

MWIT’s about to go down – ready to secure your tickets? Email your booking request to laura@alfol.co.uk. For ticket enquires call +44 (0)20 7324 7540.

Its care and styling formulas are created with a free-from philosophy; they are free from sulphates,* parabens, silicones, mineral oils and artificial colourants. Natural ingredients are extracted gently while preserving their benefits. This is nature meeting science…

We believe in… a no-filter attitude

AUTHENTIC BEAUTY CONCEPT was created as a movement with hairdressers and artisans sharing the same values, that build on today’s beliefs and individual experiences – this is a unique community embracing a new attitude towards beauty. The mindset behind the #authenticbeautymovement? ‘Be yourself’.

We believe in… authentic hair

The hair of today follows a new language, celebrating the free and unique textures of true beauty. It’s about building on the natural beauty that is already there. Effortless, crafted quality – a reduced luxury.

We believe in… a mindful experience

Sustainability runs through the core of AUTHENTIC BEAUTY CONCEPT, enabling your salon to do more to protect the planet’s future:
• A partnership with Green Salon Collective aims to raise the standards of sustainability across the industry. From events to share and inspire sustainable salon practices to discounted services for AUTHENTIC BEAUTY CONCEPT salons to recycle the traditionally impossible (hair, foil, colour tubes, towels) alongside plastic, paper, PPE, chemicals and general waste.
• There’s also access to GSC education on waste, energy, water, and food, as well as staff policies and social responsibilities.
• But it’s not just about recycling; salons can introduce an AUTHENTIC BEAUTY CONCEPT refills bar to encourage clients to reuse their mindfully packaged bottles and tubs, often at a reduced retail price. Clear action, clear impact – beauty has. never behaved better

Anxious? L’Oréal Professionnel Paris is offering free access to the Calm app

New partnership aims to help stressed stylists in tandem with Head Up initiative.

HeadUp X Calm

About 2,000 hours a year – that’s how long stylists listen to their clients, according to a study by Samaritans. It’s well known that hairdressers and barbers hear some intensely personal and potentially traumatic tales from their clients, offering advice and support alongside colour and styling. Is it any wonder that 65 per cent of stylists have told a L’Oréal study that they’ve experienced anxiety, burnout or depression at some point during their career?

In a move to offer extra practical help to those feeling stressed, L’Oréal Professionnel Paris is partnering with the app Calm to offer three months of free access, with 50 per cent off Calm’s annual subscription price following that free period. This follows the launch last year of the Head Up initiative from L’Oréal Professionnel Paris, which offers free online training to stylists on its Access platform, with its tools including meditation, breathing and movement exercises. Since its launch, more than 92,000 hairstylists from 25 countries have completed the first training module.

Via the Calm partnership, stylists can access masterclasses and relaxing stories to enhance sleep quality. The meditation, sleep and relaxation app – which usually offers a one-week free trial – has seen more than 120 million downloads, with easy access to resources available 24/7 in seven languages.

The Head Up X Calm subscription is available via L’Oréal Access or lorealprofessionnel.co.uk/headup.
